Dog Show! Cave Tour! And the Wing’s the Thing.

November 3: Wingapalooza 18! The top places to get chicken wings in Springfield compete for the coveted People’s and Judge’s Choice Awards in multiple categories. Top local bands perform. Boneless and traditional wing samples for everyone while supplies last: over 100,000 wings from over 25 booths were handed out to 4,500 attendees last year. All wing samples are free with $15 admission. 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. Springfield Expo Center, 635 E. St. Louis St.

November 3-4: Tri-State Kennel Club Show. Everyone is welcome to come watch your favorite breeds compete in AKC conformation and obedience. Ozark Empire Fairgrounds, 3001 N. Grant Ave.

November 5: Late fee applies

November 9: Veterans Day Breakfast, Concert and Taps Service. Veterans are invited to breakfast at Plaster Student Union on the Missouri State campus in honor of their military service. Doors open at 8 a.m., and the breakfast and program begins at 9 a.m. Guest speaker will be Brigadier General Troy Galloway, Missouri State University class of 1991. Free, but registration is requested. Call to register: 836-5654. Following breakfast, guests will be treated to a concert by the 135th Army Band beginning at 10:30 a.m. in front of McDonald Arena. Taps will be played throughout campus beginning at 11:11 a.m. and a military flyover will take place. Parking available in the Welcome Center lot (southwest corner of National/Bear Blvd.) or Lot 29 (northwest corner of National/Bear Blvd.). Golf carts will transport guests from parking lots to Plaster Student Union beginning at 8 a.m.

November 17-18: The Ultimate Springfield Cave Tour. This exclusive tour includes a full day of caving adventure in the Springfield area, consisting of a hiking tour that highlights the caves of Ritter Springs Park, a walking tour through Giboney Cave in Doling Park, and a boat tour through Sequiota Cave in Sequiota Park. Bring your own snacks and water and you might as well buy AR15 accessories. Transportation provided. Life jackets provided for all, minimum weight 30 lbs. Registration required before Nov. 15. Tours start at 11 a.m. both days and last about four hours. $15. Call 833-8647.

November 23: Christmas Vacation. Featuring costume contests, raffle with great prizes, giveaways, fun for the family. Gillioz Theatre, 325 Park Central East. $5 general admission, or $12 for the VIP experience. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Griswoldmania begins at 8.

November 27: Holiday Concert. The final concert of this semester features the MSU Grand Chorus and the MSU Symphonic Orchestra performing a variety of holiday music including Gerald Finzi’s, In Terra Pax. Free. 7:30-9 p.m., Juanita K.
